Hi, I’m Rev. Jasmine Loney.
I am a certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher and Mentor, Ordained Interspiritual Minister, and Traditional Teaching Master and practitioner in the Usui System of Reiki Healing. Life events, big and small, painful and joyful, led me to this belief; Living mindfully, being present in the moment, aware and without judgement, offers the ability to live a fuller and more connected life.
“No matter how long your journey appears to be, there is never more than this: one step, one breath, one moment... Now”- Eckhart Tolle
I believe that Mindfulness is the key that can help us all to be fully present in our life. Meditation provides the opportunity to practice mindful awareness which seems to be particularly important at this juncture in our personal life, the lives of others all over the world and the life of the planet. With access to everything all the time, being bombarded by the news cycles, there is a tendency to get caught up in the external. The practice of Mindfulness and Meditation affords the ability to center oneself in any given moment. The ability to be present and aware, in the moment, is a gift not be taken lightly. It allows for a life lived with intention and the ability to create and sustain a positive relationship with oneself and everyone else.
As an Ordained Minister I worked as a chaplain at Geisinger Medical Center, one of the premier medical centers in Pennsylvania. During my many years in this role, I performed baby blessings, baptisms, and memorial services and also a wedding. Having formed deep connections with many of my patients and colleagues, I had the honor of officiating their weddings, blessing their homes, and performing other life rituals. I have also offered these services in my extended community.
Forming deep connections is evident in my role as a Traditional Teaching Master and practitioner since there is an energetic connection between teacher and student, and practitioner and receiver. My Reiki practice, includes teaching classes, at home and internationally, and offering sessions both in person and from afar.
My approach
If there is one word that speaks to my work, it is connection. The root of this word comes from the Latin connexionem meaning ‘a binding or joining’. In order to provide meaningful service, it is important to me to connect with those requesting my services; to listen, to ‘join’ with them on their journey as a companion. Whether it is preparing for your wedding ceremony, blessing your baby, or creating another life ritual; teaching Reiki students or providing sessions; offering 1:1 meditation sessions, retreats or classes, it is all about connecting, being fully present and available.
